Doula Services
My wish is for you and your partner to be informed, educated, and supported so that you can have the best birth and easiest postpartum transition possible for your family.
Doula is a Greek word meaning a woman's servant. Doulas "mother the mother". My goal is to educate and support you both emotionally and physically during pregnancy, birthing, and postpartum.
Why Choose a Doula?
Numerous clinical studies have found that a doula's presence at birth:
tends to result in shorter labors with fewer complications, reducing the length of labor by 25%
reduces negative feelings about one’s childbirth experience
reduces the need for pitocin by 40%
reduces the mother’s request for pain medication
reduces requests for an epidural by 60%
decreases the overall cesarean rate by 50%
All services start with a complimentary meeting where we meet and discuss what services you are looking for and get to know one another.
